Portfolios

Above and beyond the simple resume and copy-and-pasted clips is the online portfolio, and though the former two are absolutely vital the latter can add a great deal of appeal to employers, editors and the audience. Portfolios showcase your skills and talents through your work, show that you understand technology and techniques, demonstrate your thinking about storytelling in new media and give a good idea of your potential. Even journalists who work exclusively in print should have an online portfolio.
