Pulitzer board allows “any available tool” for journalism prizes

The Pulitzer Prize Board announced that 12 of the 14 journalism categories may now use text, video, databases, multimedia or interactive presentations (or a combination). The excluded categories are for photography.

Several changes have been made behind the scenes to help ensure different formats are judged on an equal basis, including asking jurors to bring their laptops to judging in March so they can see the multimedia and visual entries as readers did.
